Often a lack of structure in College and Graduate School makes it challenging for students with ADHD. You know you are able to learn and use knowledge incredibly well but find it overwhelming to stay on top of assignments, to get to class on time,  and manage daily tasks like eating, sleeping, laundry, etc. Coaching helps create routines/structure so you feel better and manage your work better.

    Life with ADHD can be like sprinting a marathon. You get so much done, you go SO fast and then, BAM, your tank runs dry. At this point you need a lot of time to recover or you'll need a spark of excitement or deadline pressure to send you running again. Learning to regulate energy, to know when to run, walk, or take a breath is a skill you can learn to help create energized calm in your life.

 ADHD is not a deficit in attention rather it makes regulating attention a challenge. The brain struggles to filter out distractions and in its need for stimulus, often runs on stimulus seeking autopilot. In coaching we’ll discuss why this drive for stimulus can lead to great things as well as help you harness your attention so you can choose when to focus and when to change focus intentionally.

  People are scared that being self-compassionate will make them complacent but studies show it does the opposite; it creates momentum. Adults with ADHD today often grew up being more frequently misunderstood and criticized. I make sure that reinforcing your inherent worth underlies all of our work together and teach self-compassion as an absolute essential ingredient to growth.
